About Us

          Col (Dr) Aradhana Sood  and Col (Dr)Deep Kumar Raman and Col (Dr) Aradhana Sood, the founders, are both accomplished doctors, having served in the Army Medical Corps for over 25 years. Having achieved the coveted positions of Prof and Heads of Department  of apex teaching and referral hospitals in their respective specialities, they were well poised  to climb up the ladder to the top leadership positions in the Armed Forces Medical Services. In their work in  varied health  set ups across geographies within and outside India they had  firsthand experience of how  healthcare resources petered off within a few kms from urban centres and these stark inequities in access to healthcare between the urban and rural areas always bothered them. This, combined with a deep sense of wanting to give back to the society, fuelled a passion for changing the status quo.

             

          So they took premature retirement from their secure, well-paying jobs and plunged into the world of social entrepreneurship, ploughing in their expertise, time and money in making this dream a reality. With past experience in leveraging technology and telemedicine to connect doctors to patients in remote locations in the services since 2003, they see the ongoing health tech boom as a potential game changer in improving access and healthcare outcomes in rural areas. Thus was born MedLumos Pvt Ltd, a social enterprise with an aim to bring affordable quality healthcare to rural India leveraging available technology.
